Quick follow-up: I didn't think I had fonts.dir and fonts.scale in my 
.fonts folder, but it turns out I do. I have deduced that the code you 
sent me created them. I don't have much experience with this stuff, but 
I can be taught.

However, I also have a file called fonts.cache-1. I've never seen this 
naming format - is it right?
