indeed Garamond from ITC and Adobe is Not the same and while the exiting
menu (0.9.9) (I do not have the cvs builds)  gives the full names, that is
too much in the way. It really is essential that the user has  (i) an easy
way to pick fonts and (ii) can verify the fully qualified post script name
also. Layout will not be optimum otherwise. Ease of use will not be optimum
otherwise, either.
