[Scribus] vertical alignment of text inside of a textbox

I'd like to know whether it is possible to align text in vertical direction 
inside of a textbox or not. In addition to that, I found out that my manual 
settings for the spaces (which are as default "translations" of the inches to 
millimeters) between the gridlines get lost after I restart the program. What 
am I doing wrong?
