[Scribus] error in gradient PDF-printing

Hi,
I just tried writing a word, then converting tht to outlines, ungrouping it 
and changing each individual letter to horizontal gradient fill -black and 
some other color. When making a PDF out of it, the black gets replaced by 
white.
... besides now I don't seem to be able to change the color at all. I can send 
the file if someone is interested.

I am running current CVS.
