[Scribus] Compile Errors

By associated packages, do you mean the -devel packages?

Freetype2-devel should have in it libfreetype6 - it certainly does under
RH9.

As the configure script couldn't find libfreetype >= 5, this problem
could be down to this. Then again, it might not - without seeing the
output of the configure script (unless it was the one above), it's hard
to diagnose.
