Where do I download the -devel source? I didn't see it a freetype.org anywhere.

Joe,

It is not going to make until it gets a successful ./configure done, so
let's work with that first.  My first guess is look to see if you have
freetype-devel installed.  Here are the freetype files I have:
freetype-1.3.1-789
freetype-tools-1.3.1-789
freetype2-2.1.4-0
freetype2-devel-2.1.4-0

I think all you need is the development files to get things moving.
