I think this is one of the issues about the file format that needs some 
hard thinking, realizing that changing the format creates compatibility 
problems.

I have a very hard time getting the Story Editor to change what I want 
without changing fonts, sizes, etc. Every time you change font size, 
type, color (and some other features), Scribus has to create a new ITEXT 
block, which means that Scribus also has to decide whether other things 
should match defaults, the ITEXT block before or after. I'm guessing 
this is a difficult algorithm to make.
