Its very easy, if you run 1.1.5 cvs of any date later than about the
23rd of December 2003. Access the number of columns and the gap between
them on the Properties palette.
1.1.4 does not support multiple columns within text frames. For 1.1.4
you have to use multiple linked frames.
If you are stuck with major releases and cant get to CVS successfully,
then the best answer I can give at this point is that the 1.1.5 release
is not too far away (read 1-2 weeks at best guess, perhaps less).
