[Scribus] Problem with color management

Hello all,
I am building my first "for commercial print" piece of material and I am trying to do it properly (cymk and the like).
I cannot get the color management window to show up.
I have read all the color management documentation suggested. I have compiled from both an SRPM(1.1.4 build-id 20) and the tar.gz available directly from the scribus folk. I am using SuSE 8.2. I have checked for "lcms__cmsChannelsOf=yes" and it is there in config.h. There is a freshly created profile in the profiles directory. I have changed the path to my home directory and thrown it in there, to no avail.
I have back-installed 1.0.1 and 1.1.3 and still no joy.
As a side note, I have also used the 1.1.4 (package a)rpm from http://packman.links2linux.org/?action=332
and it also will not allow me to use color management.
I am sure that there I am doing something fundamentally wrong here, but I haven't a clue as to what!
If anyone has a suggestion, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Matt
