[Scribus] Searching for DTP tool

Hi folks,

FreeBSD 5.2

Just join this list.  Scribus is new to me.

I am searching for a GUI desktop publisher capable to create ebooks from 
pages/files download/printed from documents on website, either on .pdf 
or .html formats (files of same format to be combined.  Not mixed format)  
Besides while reading the ebook readers can highlight paragraph/text as 
needed or adding note.

Is Scribus the right tool for me?  OR are there any other suggestions?
