libart_lgpl-2.3.10-1 is quite old - 2.3.16 is the latest stable release.
That is likely the culprit.
You can get updated rpms for kde here:
ftp://apt.us.kde-redhat.org/linux/kde-redhat/apt/kde-redhat/8.0/RPMS.stable/
as well as updated littlcms and libart rpms:
ftp://apt.us.kde-redhat.org/linux/kde-redhat/apt/fedora/8.0/RPMS.stable/
That said, I have reliably compiled Scribus on every version of Red Hat
since 7.0 and I found 7.3 and Fedora-1 to the best of all.
RH8 in particular had a lot of issues with fontconfig and printing
issues which were fixed in RH9.
On Fedora, it just works TM.
