[Scribus] two questions

1) when i create a text-frame with say, 3 columns and a gutter margin,
why doesn't it show me the column margins and guides, so i have a better
visual cue. when i enter text it does wrap around correctly into three
columns. but i wish to see the three columns in guidelines.

2) on creating a text-frame, adding text in 100% black, then selecting
the text-frame and giving it a background fill of hyello 20%, i discover
the text has become gray, perhaps black 20%. the properties palette
continues to show it as shade: 100% in the text fields. how do i get the
text to remain at 100%black?

please help urgently on these. am using 1.1.6, fedcore1.
