has all the details on requirements for installing and compiling.
Text On a Path
To create text on a path. Create a text box then enter the text. Then, create
a bezier curve or your desired shape, then right click the shape and select
Convert to Bezier Curve. Position the text close to the curve and then Left
Drag around the two items with the mouse. Then, Item > Attach Text To Path and
the text will attach to the path. You can use the properties palette to adjust
rotation and double clicking the bezier will enable editing the path.
With text on a path, you can achieve some visually stunning effects. Using it
is simple
1. Type in your text
2. Execute the command -> Attach Text to Path. Select the text and choose
Convert to Outlines This converts your text to a group of polygon objects,
then, Right click > Convert to Polygons
3. Ungroup the Polygon Group
4. Select all polygons and and choose object-> Combine Polygons
Now your text can be manipulated as a single object. Thus it is possible to
create gradient fills
Cheers,
Peter
