Ok, in 1.2 CVS there is (when its next updated, server might be back
today?!?!), a 15-20% rendering improvement for text. This is very noticeable,
even on fast machines. This doesnt go all the way to fixing the problem you
describe, but it does help. The more complete solution will come in 1.3.

Large editing, fast typing, or maybe editing without changing your canvas zoom
levels? There more I'm sure, cant think right now.
