[Scribus] compiling problem

I had been running 1.2 RC and decided to upgrade to the latest 
CVS. On compiling, I get errors related to excessive recursion (or 
something like that). There is a suggestion listed about how to fix 
the error, but i'm clueless about what file or where to set an 
environment variable. (FWIW, i tried after to compile 1.2 with the 
same result)
