[Scribus] bold characters in a paragraph

Thanks Craig, your solution doesn't work though. There is no bold button on my
text properties palette (Scribus 1.2.2cvs). Also selecting text is only
possible within the buildin text editor (selecting lines seems possible in
the Scribus text field, not separate words).
I did manage however so solve my problem. In the text editor I select the word
and than I change the font form regular to bold. That did work!

What puzzles me: should I see bold buttons?
