[Scribus] Invisible Doc window in Aqua?

In OS X, I get no document window whatsoever. I see the scribus menu  
items' names in the menu bar, and can make tool palettes appear, but  
no document window.

I'm not  running Scribus via X11, but directly in OS X, so there is  
no X11 window containing Scribus and its windows.
