[Scribus] Palettes' display is very big

Hi,

I have a brand new install of Debian on an (bare) iMac (no OS X) with 
Scribus build Jan. 8. When I set the display type size in the 
Settings>Prefs, this applies to the top menu bar but not to the 
Properties palette which is twice as big as should be (typesize and 
window at the smallest possible).

What's wrong? Help will be appreciated, as always!
