[Scribus] quick question on configuring

I'm getting error I can't figure out...

checking how to run the C++ preprocessor... /lib/cpp
configure: error: C++ preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check
See `config.log' for more details.

I looked at the log, but I don't know what I'm looking for. I'm
compiling the latest CVS on Ubuntu on an iBook (from source - apt is
dated).
