[Scribus] 1.2.1 for MacOSX 10.2 - SOLVED

The discussion for this went off-line, but the solution
for Scribus 1.2.1 crashing on Mac OS 10.2.8
(fink 10.2-gcc3, unstable tree) was

1) Make sure $DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH was set to null (or
      at least NOT set to "/sw/lib").

This fixed the first crash. Scribus then crashed while
"Searching for Fonts." So, step 2 was

2) To install freetype2-hinting and freetype2-hinting-shlibs
via fink. (I already had the non-hinting ones installed.)
To quote Martin Costabel:
