Yes, it does. Click on selection tool, the pointer, and then click on 
the frame or frames of interest. Right click, and the 'Info' menu,  the 
first one at the top of the fly-out, shows paragraph, word, and 
character count. I believe it shows up to a page, in 1.2.1.
