[Scribus] scribus default font has no uk pound symbol

a scribus docuemtn using the default font of bluehighway appears not to be
able to export to pdf a uk pound sterling "?" symbol - it appears as an
arrow!

i used to use mandrake 10.1 and scribus 1.2, i upgraded to 10.2 and scribus
1.2.1 and then 1.2.2rcs.

so i guess the font itself does't have this glyph? 

what's the best way to proceed in these cases? surely not to insert a symbol
from a different font?!
