[Scribus] Accents in pt_BR (iso8859-1)

Maybe I'm missing something but are you using the menu item, Extras, 
Insert Special to input the accented character? I know it works in 
1.2.1cvs. AFAIK you can't simply type the character into a text frame, 
but have to use the Insert Special feature of Scribus.
