[Scribus] 1.3 Default text size

I have just returned to Scribus. Both the 1.3 cvs of 21 May and 23 May had this bizarre behaviour in placing text into a text box


New document
create Text box
Get text

and the resulting properties for text showed

Font Size   12pt
Scaling width of characters   400%
Off set to Baseline   0.0%
Scaling height of character   10%

Tracking   0.0pt
line spacing    14.4pt


Bringing the two scaling factors to 100% corrects the presentation


Does anyone else have this behaviour, maybe I've broken something


Is there a setting somewhere for these defaults? I can't find it under preferences


My 1.2.2 does not exhibit this problem
