[Scribus] Determining color coverage

Hi there,

I'd like to print small editions of flyers etc. on my own printer.
Therefore I need a cost estimation. The largest cost factor is toner (at
5% coverage, it's about 0.12 Euro per page, at 50% it's about 1 Euro per
page).

Has anybody an idea how I could easily determine the average color
coverage of a given document? I looked around in ImageMagick but
couldn't find anything useful. After all, it boils down to "scale down
page to 1x1 pixel using simple average filter", then measure C,M,Y and
K. What tool could I use to scale down in CMYK space and how do I get
the C,M,Y and K values? (I don't use Windows nor do I have Photshop
available.)
