This a topic that has been discussed and will be discussed in various forums
ad infinitum, so we don't need to start it again here.

Porting Scribus to Windows was a decision of the developers and a good one
too. Having Scribus available for Win32 means more users and more feedback
which is priceless. Plus, another member, Jean Ghali, has joined the team,
and although I'm no developer, my impression is that he does a fantastic job.
He contributes lots of patches which benefit the whole project.

Projects like Scribus need much input from people working in professional
environments, and there, most of the software runs on MacOS or, to a smaller
degree, Windows. Those professionals won't install Linux just to spend a lot
of time with testing. It's the other way around: Once they recognise there
are real alternatives available in the world of free software, they may
change to Linux in the future. And even if they don't: software should
benefit the users, not ideologies.

Cheers,

Christoph
