[Scribus] Column Break and Page Break in text

Hi,
Although I worked in Prepress for many years and understand Desktop Publishing 
faily well, I only started using Scribus 2 days ago.

I'm looking for a way to include column breaks and page breaks in text that is 
flowed through a book of about 60 pages.

Text copied from other programs with breaks does not seem to work, nor does 
putting in come of the common characters like ascii 29 or ascii 31.

I'm using Scribus 1.2RC1cvs which came with Mepis Linux.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
