I wonder if perhaps Scribus should consider a new approach to this, 
which might help many more of us who don't use dead keys.
Example 1: Having an assignable keyboard shortcut, such as Shift+Ctrl+^, 
then o produces ?.
Example 2: being able to enter the HTML ô, perhaps with a leading 
backslash.
