By means of going back and forth with Barcode generator I figured out I 
missed the Postnet spec "correction character" -- there is an added code 
so that the sum of all the digits is divisible by 10. For those 
interested, Barcode generator now squeaks in with output per specs.

This new version has that feature added.

As far as Owen's question:
What this script does is create a series of lines in Scribus, so as 
created they are individual elements. To move them, you have to group 
them first. Beyond that, there is a peculiarity with how Scribus rotates 
groups -- you cannot select a rotation point, it operates as if the 
rotation point is somewhere way off to the left and upward from the 
group. Craig Ringer is aware of this.
