I have not yet had any success with your CMake build system on the Mac. 
As long as you use linuxisms like

   CHECK_LIBRARY_EXISTS(libfreetype.so FT_Get_First_Char "" 
HAVE_FREETYPE_FIRST)

in CMakeLists.txt, it won't build on MacOSX.
