nice article.  it appears to this scribus newbie that there is much more 
to scribus than i thought.  with what i'm reading on the list and this 
article, there is no comparison between id and scribus.

on that note, coming from a journalistic background, the magazine needs 
readers and to fuel a "war" (and the media is good at that) between an 
open source product and an "industry standard" giant makes for good 
reading; and the spin offs are there for the picking.

back to the article, did i understand correctly that scribus can produce 
a presentation similar to ms powerpoint and open office impress?
