[Scribus] beginner question - importing

I create a blank document 3.5" by 8.5", with .2" margins on all four sides.

Using Photoshop CS2 to create a TIFF (as per Scribus help), I attempt to
insert an image frame (image appx 25 meg in size) but no image appears in
the blank document.

If a right click to edit the image spot on the blank document, the message
Gimp is missing appears.

Any help regarding importing would be appreciated.
