well, i think you're right. i tried scribus on winxp sp2 machine and it 
worked perfectly.
so i have to install sp2 on my machine. but first i'll try the 
alternative you described (just to test it), then i'll tell you, how it 
works. i'll do it next week, because i am out of my computer now.
