[Scribus] How to print?

Well, I know some lists where your question wouldn't generate a civil 
reply, but here's my capsule:

There is a problem trying to print directly from Scribus in some, 
perhaps many, Linux distros, notably FC6. Printing can be done with an 
alternative print command, however.
Since other apps are printing, the question is why isn't Scribus? It 
seems to have something to do with how CUPS is handling the output from 
Scribus, more or less acting like it's done its job when it doesn't end 
up with anything, even a usable error message.

I think that's about where we are right now.
