Hello,
If you are using our upstream repositories of Debian/Ubuntu Scribus packages
you will notice during your next package upgrade that apt/aptitude complains
about not having the right key. The reason for it is that as of today the key
used for signing our repositories has been changed. Please read
http://www.scribus.net/index.php?name=Sections&req=viewarticle&artid=4 for the
details. For the impatient, run
gpg --keyserver subkeys.pgp.net --recv-keys EEF818CF; gpg --armor --export EEF818CF | sudo apt-key add -
as a user if you have sudo access to "apt-key" or
gpg --keyserver subkeys.pgp.net --recv-keys EEF818CF; gpg --armor --export EEF818CF | apt-key add -
as root.
The reason for this change is that previously I used my personal gpg key for
signing the repositories and every time I had a need to update my key with new
identities and signatures, or change its expiration everyone using our
repositories would have to update the key. With the new dedicated key we
should finally have archive key stability barring any unforeseen events.
Go ahead and make the last key update you'll need and forget about the whole
issue.
Cheers,
Alex.
