[Scribus] importing eps files converts to tif and storing on local harddrive not path

It gets even worse. When I am working on multiple files, the .tif files 
get overwritten by the new import.
file1.sla uses USER-1.tif through USER-5.tif,
file2.sla uses USER-1.tif through USER-3.tif

Now if I ope up file1.sla, several images get mixed up with the 
file2.sla .tif files.

I'm totally confused and frustrated.
