yes, it seems the "error" is mine completely - that is, for trying to
import such a huge SVG... the one I ended up with was nearly
1MB... actually, what was happening was, the scribus engine was
just spinning and spinning and... well, so on(!)... with the import
never finishing.
Solution: optimizing the SVG reduced it to 24,000 kb... tiny...
and it loaded immediately into Scribus... Wa-la ! (thats french).
So, indeed, Scribus and SVG are a happy team, so long as you
dont overload it.
Thanks again for the replies, and thanks to Scribus for such
a nice DTP !
