IME, far more stable than either PM65 or InDesign 1.5

Yes.

I use Scribus under XP. It continues to be a good experience, and I'm
really looking forward to the stable 1.3.5.x.

It may be great - I don't know I've never used it, or PM7 for that
matter. If I were you though, I'd ask yourself what pagestream has that
Scribus doesn't.

Quite. I've never had support and community as good as this.
Adobe by contrast were generally utterly useless, even when I
encountered bugs that were show stopping for my projects.
