Anybody who wants to play is invited. But what's the game ?

If the game is only attractive to smart players, should we dumb it
down ?

Is it ?

Should it be ?

Must they ? As a community we aren't paying them to develop.

I think they are free to pursue whatever agenda they feel appropriate,
prioritising as they see fit.

The seem to have chosen functionality and features well to me, but it's
up to them.

Of course if they choose to listen to the community that's great for us,
but I think we should be cautious about assuming too much about aims
such as "popularity".

Is the aim excellence or market share ?

No doubt, but if people don't know the software, I'm not sure they can
contribute more than questions about its capabilities ?
