[scribus] Why to I have to set the screen size in Scribus?

I'm running both Scribus and gimp on Linux. X will tell applications the
screen size. It autodetets the screen size. Where autodetection fails it
can be configured by hand (system-wide, so it has to be done only once,
not for each application).
