Hi Tom,

as an advocate of Creative Commons, I can understand your point of view.
But never the less... you are rude.
I don't think the book will be as profitable as to give Gregory a living
out of it... a lot of sweat and time has gone into this book (I assume).
He also made the choice to share profits with the Scribus project.

The negativity in you mail causes me to call your bluff: I really hope
that you are very envolved in the Scribus project, be it by documenting,
coding or translating, bug-tracking or promoting it in professional areas...
It is too easy to bark up a tree telling how much better it would have
been if it were creative commons - and possibly it would be... But at
least now we have a book. All we had up to recently, was a more or less
regularly updated bunch of wiki pages scattered over a dozen sites. I
think this book is a great improvement. And indeed, some people won't be
able to buy the book because of the economic crisis. I empathise with
these victims of the financial turmoil, but it is way too easy to attack
the person who actually acomplished the job.

Googling for "book on scribus by tom poe" didn't give me very much hits...

I doubted about sending this mail, as I might be feeding the troll...
but I think it's too important to not to.

Jurgen.
