Re selected text, the process is simply to provide me with a short cut set up 
for the initial newsletter, getting everything I need into the right place all 
at once.

Ive been through the API help manual and did not see:
  scribus.valueDialog('Title in Frame', 'Message', 'Default value if you wish')
or if I did, then did not understand it's necessity, I'll look again.
