Thanks, Thorsten. Yes, I have also been able to get the macports  
1.3.3.9 working. I was able to complete a project with the macports  
version, and the output is just fine, although I have found it to be  
much less stable than the fink scribus-aqua I had working under OSX  
10.4.

I'm still holding out hope for a working scribus-aqua :)
