Even easier :)
- Create your formula in OO.o (it doesn't matter where. You can use Writer, Calc, Impress or Draw)
- Copy it to an OO.o Draw document
- Make sure it is selected
- Under File > Export choose EPS as export format and check "Selection" in the file dialog
- Export as EPS
- Load the EPS into Scribus via File > Import > Import EPS/PS
