[Scribus] Scribus for Scientific writing

Is Scribus ready for writing long scientific articles?
I used LaTeX for a while and wonder myself if its possible to do the job
with Scribus.
Is it possible to do autonumbering and import of bibliographic data?


The most importent thing is the File format. It would be a catastrophy if i
cannot open a old Article with a newer version.

Is there a  guarantee of using old scribus files in new versions?
