Alex,
This explains it very well - I added the scribus repository, and I run Gutsy. 
Thank you for building the svn version - I very much appreciate this. The svn 
version works very well for me (and I am happy to be able to help report 
bugs). So if you could continue to build a svn version from time to time, I'd 
be glad... ;-)
