[Scribus] Soft hyphenation - what's the trick?

Hello fellows

It seems like I'm too dumb to use soft hyphenation. (1.3.3.11 @ WinXP)
I've got a Text frame, hyphenation activated - this works well. But there
are some words not recognized as hyphenable. So I move the cursor to the
point (@ text mode) and press Ctrl+Shift+- and: Nothing happens. Same thing
with using the menu entry.
So: Am I doing wrong or is scribus on strike in this issue?
ATM, im doing the ugly old workaround, inserting "- ", praying that I don't
have to change anything on the page later.

Any help?
