Hmm. In my Linux 1.3.3.13svn, and my Windows 1.3.3.12, it's just like I 
described (what you're calling brown, I'm calling dark red).
Perhaps you're only locking size? That seems to be a different behavior, 
more like what you describe. Maybe you could just lock everything?
