The PDF does not have a resolution before it gets imported because if it comes
from Latex it contains only vector information.
AFAIK Scribus rasterizes a pdf when it gets imported. That explains why
printing a file with al lot of pdf takes long, there are a lot of images in
it.
If you are worried about the resolution of the final pdf take a look with
200%-400% magnification in the Adobe Reader. If the image does not look good
you will propably get problems if you print it. Or create 300 or 600 dpi
tiffs from your pdf with convert and put them in your document.
