It was just two placed graphics. Both are EPS files, one saved from
Inkscape and the other made from a PDF with ps2eps,

The document is a student workbook that I originally wrote and laid out
in OOo. I am resetting it in Scribus as a learning tool because, for
me, the best way to learn all the ins and outs of a complex program is
to just start using it on a big complex project. The document has
dozens of graphics files, but these two were at the beginning of the
document. I placed them by creating an image frame and then Get Image.
At the time I didn't know about File > Import > Get Vector File,
because I probably should have used that instead.

In fact, these are the only two images in the document that were placed
by creating a fame and then Get Image. And they were the only ones
where the image was resized in the frame with the new version of
Scribus. So that's where the problem lies. I just assumed that the
April 15 version has some changes in the way images are handled. It
only took a moment to reposition and rescale the images in the frames,
so I didn't think it was a big deal. This is, after all, beta software.
But your point is well taken. When 1.3.5 is released and people start
to use it for serious work, what will happen when they open files
created in 1.3.3.x?
